PS
A 300-500 word Statement of Interest describing relevant aspects of your background and addressing how this program will help you meet your academic and professional goals. We encourage you to be as clear as possible about the relationship between this particular program and your interests and goals; just noting a long-standing interest in international issues or travel is not a compelling reason for admission.
GPA
Additionally, with few exceptions, applicants must have at least a 3.0 grade-point average (on a scale in which A = 4.0) in their bachelor's degree. Please note: while a 3.0 GPA is the minimum requirement, admitted students generally have higher GPAs.
CV
A copy of your current résumé
Fee
International online $85.00.
RL
Two letters of recommendation submitted by your references. You may have your references mail hard copies of their recommendation letters to us along with a signed copy of KU's official reference form (PDF) or they may submit their reference letters online through KU's graduate application system. At least one academic reference is preferred, especially for students entering directly from their undergraduate program, and all references should be able to speak to your potential to be successful as a graduate student as indicated on the form. Specific information about your past performance in academics or related activities offers the best support to your application.
Transcript
One official transcript sent directly from your degree-granting undergraduate institution. (If you transferred in significant coursework from another institution toward your undergraduate degree, you might want to consider submitting a transcript from that institution, as well.) If you have earned any graduate degrees, you will need to submit an official transcript from that university, also. Official copies of these transcripts must be sent directly to the GIST program at the address below:
