TOEFL
If you are an international applicant applying from a non-English speaking country, you must take the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) and arrange to have official score results of the test sent directly to the department. You may have ETS mail the scores to the department, but you should also have the scores sent to us electronically. TOEFL scores must be dated within two years of the application deadline. We require a minimum TOEFL score of 79.
IELTS
The required minimum IELTS (International English Language Testing System) score is 6.5 overall with no individual sub-score below 6.0.
GRE
We cannot consider applications without GRE scores; therefore, it is important that you plan to take the GREs early enough for scores to reach us in December. The GENERAL TEST is required.

In order to be eligible for the Schomburg Fellowship you need to be either a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident, and have a cumulative undergraduate GPA of 3.0 or above.

Letters of recommendation should be submitted online through the application system or, if absolutely necessary, sent as a hard copy directly from the author to: Graduate Admissions, Department of Psychology, Park Hall Room 210, University at Buffalo–The State University of New York, Buffalo, NY 14260-4110. Hard copies must be sealed and signed. We cannot accept photocopies of letters.
