Courses are offered in a unique blend of on-campus and online learning that takes advantage of the best of both instructional modes, while leverages UConn’s extensive experience in online, on-campus, and hybrid learning. Recognizing that today’s professionals are actively balancing career, home, and personal demands, the MSHRM program offers accelerated courses in seven-week sessions throughout the year. The program schedule is designed to allow students to focus on a single course each session while completing the program in 22 months. Each semester’s coursework includes four integrated Saturday Seminars at our Graduate Business Learning Center in downtown Hartford. UConn’s MS HRM Course Sequence – designed for working professionals You’ll study alongside a talented and diverse cohort of fellow students, building professional networks that extend beyond the classroom. The set sequence of classes is supplemented by your choice of two electives either from the HRM field or from other business academic areas including marketing, finance, accounting, and operations. We even take care of the details of registering for courses so you can focus purely on your academics. By carefully selecting your two electives, you can focus your studies on particular areas of Human Resources or business that interest you, including Employment Law, Diversity and Inclusion, Negotiation Strategies, Employee and Labor Relations, or even Marketing, Management, Finance, Accounting, and Operations and Information Management. Your transcript(s) must meet the following criteria: A cumulative grade-point average of 3.0 for your entire undergraduate career or A grade-point average of at least 3.0 for your last two undergraduate years or Exceptional work in your entire final undergraduate career (3.5 or better) or Graduate work with a minimum grade-point average of 3.0 or better GRADUATE TEST SCORES Many programs require submission of the General Test of the Graduate Record Examination (GRE). Some programs require specific GRE Subject Tests. Business programs require the Graduate Management Admissions Test (GMAT). *Please check with your intended program to confirm which test scores are required, if any. ENGLISH PROFICIENCY If you are not a native speaker of English, you must submit evidence of your proficiency in the English language. You may use the (no more than two years old) results from either one of two standardized tests to satisfy this requirement. If you submit results from the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL), you need a minimum overall score of 550 for the paper-based test, or 79 for the Internet-based test. If you submit results from the International English Language Testing System (IELTS), you need an average overall band score of at least 6.5. Only the scores from the Academic Module, not the General Training Module, are applicable. If you submit results from the Person Test of English (PTE) we require and overall score of 53.
