The Department of Economics prides itself on the diversity of interests and fields of its faculty. All of the faculty are actively involved in research and publication activities, and are active in international, national, and regional professional societies. Faculty members have also served in positions with the national and state governments, and international institutions.
The M.A. program in Economics is a two semester program consisting of advanced coursework in Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, Econometrics, and electives. The final exam of the M.A. program is a Master’s paper, which students work on over the academic year and/or over the summer after completion of all coursework.
The Ph.D. program is designed to be completed in 5 years, with the first 3-4 years focused on coursework and the final 1-2 years on research and completion of the dissertation.
