TOEFL
All applicants whose primary language is not English, including international and non-native English speakers, must submit official Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or International English Language Testing System (IELTS) scores. TOEFL or IELTS test scores can also be a valuable supplement to unsatisfactory Critical Reading SAT test scores. The minimum score requirement for the TOEFL is 550 (paper-based), 213 (computer-based), or 79 (Internet-based). The minimum score requirement for the IELTS exam is 6.5. Test scores must be sent directly to the University of Connecticut from the respective testing service.
Note: If you have ever enrolled full-time at a post-secondary institution after graduating from high school, you are a transfer student and must apply as a transfer student.

Transcript
Your high school transcript(s) should include your senior classes, class rank and latest grades earned. It is preferred that you include official transcripts in your packet of supporting materials. Transcripts must be submitted in a sealed envelope from your school. If you do not enclose your transcripts in your packet of supporting materials, they should be sent directly from your school to UConn.
If you have completed the State High School Equivalency Diploma (GED), send the Office of Undergraduate Admissions an official copy of your diploma and a complete set of scores. Official transcript(s) of any work you completed in high school are also required.
All postsecondary official transcript(s) from each institution attended are required whether or not credit is desired or expected. It is preferred that you include official transcripts in your packet of supporting materials. Transcripts must be in a sealed envelope from the institution. Transcripts may also be sent directly to the Office of Undergraduate Admissions from each institution.
All academic credentials not written in English must be accompanied by an official, certified English translation.
