Preference in admission will be given to students who score 600 or above on the TOEFL paper exam, 100 or above on the TOEFL internet exam, 7.0 or above on the IELTS, or _number:84 or above on the MELAB.

GRE
GRE scores should be from within the past five years. Preferred minimum scores on the GRE are 15_number:8 (verbal), 15_number:8 (quantitative), and 4.5 (analytical writing). International students are not required to take the GRE. The absence of GRE scores for international students will not affect a decision on admission, though it may place you at a disadvantage for some fellowship competitions.

Your first personal statement should describe your research interests, career goals, professional and research experience, and other relevant background information. It should not exceed two single-sided pages. The document can be uploaded to AY’s “Applicant Statements” section using the “Statement #1” button.

Transcript
Unofficial transcripts or academic records should be uploaded directly to the online application. International students should upload an English translation if the transcript is not in English. Please do not mail in paper copies of your transcripts—there is no need for official transcripts or academic records for initial review. If you are admitted, the University will request official copies of you transcripts.
