TOEFL
Applicants must meet or exceed the minimum on the Internet-based test - Writing: 20; Listening: 15; Reading: 20; Speaking: 22.TOEFL exams must be taken no more than two years before the application is submitted. Scores are sent directly to the Graduate School
IELTS
The Graduate School requires an overall band score of 7.0 or higher and does not set minimum sub-scores. We are not able to accept IELTS electronically yet. Until Cornell is able to receive electronic IELTS scores please mail or send as an email attachment a LEGIBLE copy of your IELTS scores, including first name, last name, date of birth and test scores to: Cornell University Graduate School, 143 Caldwell Hall, Ithaca, NY 14853, or: gradadmissions@cornell.edu.
GRE
Score above the 80 percentile, verbal and quantitative combined, and 4.5 or higher on the writing/analytical parts of the on the GRE aptitude tests

Each applicant must submit a statement of purpose. The statement of purpose is your opportunity to help reviewers better understand your academic objectives and determine if you are a good match for the field to which you are applying.
Length and Format:
The statement should be one or two pages. Include your full name and the proposed field of study at the top of each page. Please use a standard font and font size for ease of reading.
Topic:
The statement of purpose should include your reasons for undertaking graduate work and an explanation of your academic interests, including their relation to your undergraduate study and professional goals.
Some fields ask that you address particular questions in your statement of purpose. Please check with your field for field requirements.

The application fee is USD $80.

Three letters of recommendation from faculty members or employers who can assess the applicant's academic potential for a graduate program are required.
Transcript
Official transcripts of undergraduate and graduate studies (if applicable) should be scanned and uploaded into the online application as part of the submission process. For students who are subsequently admitted and accept the offer of admission, a formal paper transcript will be required prior to matriculation
