TOEFL
The English proficiency requirement can be fulfilled through the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or the International English Language Testing System (IELTS).
Applicants are strongly urged to make arrangements to take these examinations early in the fall. Scores more than 2 years old are not accepted. Student score reports are not considered official.
The Graduate School requires the following minimum scores:
600 on the TOEFL paper-and-pencil test
100 on the TOEFL internet-based test

The statement of purpose should consist of approximately one thousand words. Describe your background, your past work and studies in statistics, your plans for graduate study, and your professional goals.
GPA
The admissions committee looks at the overall application, not just one particular area such as GPA or GRE scores. We do not publish average scores of any kind. Nor do we provide details on the numbers or applicants of our students.
Fee
A nonrefundable fee of $105 must accompany the completed online application.
RL
Three letters of recommendation are required, preferably from academic sources. A recommendation from a supervisor in a related field can be substituted if appropriate.
Transcript
Applicants should upload a transcript or record (e.g., web-based transcripts, mark sheets, Relevé de Notes) of any academic work from each university-level institution you have attended for use in review of your application. If you receive an offer of admission, you will be required to send official paper documents for verification before the offer is considered official. Do not send official transcripts before being notified by GSAS.
Transcripts that are in a language other than English must be translated into English. The translation must be certified to be an accurate translation of the original and be notarized or otherwise authenticated. Both non-English and translated transcripts should be uploaded.
