TOEFL
International students who did not earn a bachelor's degree from an institution in which English is the primary language of instruction, must submit proof of competency in English by submitting TOEFL or IELTS scores in order for the application to be reviewed. Results from the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) may be self-reported in the application. You must also upload a copy of your unofficial TOEFL or IELTS score report from the testing center as part of your application. Applicants may return to the online application any time prior to the deadline to update their scores.TOEFL Minimum: 100 (TOEFL Preferred: 110)

THREE LETTERS OF RECOMMENDATION
Choose recommenders who, individually or in aggregate, will give the best sense of your qualifications for study at SIPA.
SIPA prefers to receive one letter from a professor and one from a supervisor or colleague.
All documents, except foreign transcripts judged irreplaceable, become the property of Columbia and cannot be returned. All documents must be in English or accompanied by certified translations.
Transcript
Applicants should scan and upload legible, digital copies of your transcripts from each college and university you have attended as a registered student. These may be unofficial transcripts. When scanning transcripts to upload, be sure to scan the reverse side of the transcripts if applicable or any additional pages that include comments on the grading system used. Transcripts not in English must be translated into English. We recommend using a high-quality scanner for this process.
