PS
Because the decision to admit applicants to the graduate program in the department of EEES at Clemson University is based on many diverse factors, we would like to get to know you as well as possible. Accordingly, we ask that you submit a one page essay (Statement of Purpose) to tell us something about yourself and the experiences which helped shape you, as well as your life's goals and professional aspirations. Include an indication of your preferred area of specialization and research in the environmental engineering and science field, and state why you are interested in the area.
GPA
For admission to the M.S. program, an applicant should have a grade point ratio/average (GPR/GPA) of at least 3.0 out of 4.0
RL
We carefully consider letters of recommendation from professors from your undergraduate and masters education. The letters should be from evaluators who know you well and can write about your skills, talents, experiences, and abilities. Letters from supervisors from any work experience are also helpful but at least one letter should be included from an academic evaluator.
Transcript
A copy of your unofficial transcripts from each institution of attendance should be attached to and submitted with the online application for admission.
Official transcripts are only required of those applicants who are offered admission. Final-official transcripts must be received by Clemson University in a sealed envelope from the issuing institution. The title of the degree earned and the date awarded must be noted to be considered a final-official transcript. Official certificates or diplomas in sealed envelopes from the issuing institution should accompany any transcripts that do not note the degree earned and date awarded directly on the transcripts. Graduate Admissions will not accept faxed copies of transcripts as official.
Do not send Secondary (High School) transcripts or any type of certificates other than degree certificates
Applicants to graduate programs at Clemson University must hold a four-year bachelor's degree (or equivalent) or a master's degree from an institution whose scholastic rating is satisfactory to the University. If you are uncertain whether an institution from which you received a degree is a qualifying institution, then you are encouraged to consult with the program to which you intend to apply. Contact information for the various programs can be found here. An English translation of all transcripts is required. Translations are accepted from the issuing institution or translations provided by any NACES recognized credential evaluation service. For a list of NACES recognized evaluation companies, please visit: http://www.naces.org/members.html. Some do not provide translations. Two NACES- recognized companies which do provide transcript translations are Spantran (requests for translations/verifications should be sent to intake@spantran.com) and Josef Silny and Associates, but you are welcome to use any NACES-recognized company. Clemson does not endorse any particular company.
